New Flood Maps for Essex County in July 2014
FEMA has created new flood maps for much of Essex County that will go into effect July 16, 2014. Areas most impacted will be along the coastline, from Newbury to Gloucester, though the entire county is being updated. Read on for more information.

Our friends at the JN Phillips Auto Glass Foundation have created the opportunity to reward a kind-hearted high school senior with a $2,500 Scholarship in the name of Rosemarie M. Shaughnessy. New Year, New Growth
Chase and Lunt is pleased to announce its continued expansion with the addition of Michael Howlett. Michael is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a degree in communications. He has completed a rigorous insurance training program focusing on commercial account development and management. "I am very excited about the future with this growing, well respected agency" stated Howlett. "I am also pleased to continue to be a part of and contribute to the communities that helped raise me." Michael attended public school in Newburyport before attending St. John's Prep in Danvers. He currently resides in Amesbury.
"We are very pleased to bring Mike into the agency and have high expectations that he will be a strong addition to our company," stated Vice President Mark Bailey.
Michael was also highlighted in a recent edition of "In the Loop."

Remembering the HMS Bounty

New York Governor Encourages Flood Insurance
Insurance Journal - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is urging to take steps now to protect their homes in the event New York is hit by any of the nine to 15 storms the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts for the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season.
As many as three of those storms are predicted by NOAA to strengthen to hurricane force with top winds of 111 miles per hour or higher. Hurricane season extends through November 30. Read more...

NEW FLOOD MAPS EFFECTIVE July 3, 2012
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of updating the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). The current maps are from 1985. Over the years, many of the flood insurance maps have become outdated due to urban growth, changes in river flows and coastlines, and even flood mitigation efforts. Accurate flood risk information is essential to inform property owners of changing flood risks and to determine appropriate rates for flood insurance coverage. Learn more...
